The Beatles Butcher Shot

This is an album cover from The Beatles. "Yesterday and Today" was a compilation album back in the day. The album cover was shot by Robert Whitaker and was supposed to symbolize Capitol Records and how they butchered the Beatles' songs like meat in order to make a profit. However, because of Perception, the artistic photograph was scrutinized rather unfairly.

Perception is the system where one notices and interprets data about people, events, activities, and situations. Or in this case... album covers... But when you come to think of it, this shot does raise the hair of some Common Perceptual Tendencies... It is quite intense and a lot of people favor negative impressions. This album was looked down upon too much for it did not follow the social rules at that time.

We should always remember that The Beatles didn't intend for this album to upset anyone. They just wanted something different and unique. It's a shame the fans' perception on the idea was very negative.

At the same day the album was released, it was recalled due to objections from some consumers. It was later reinstated with a new cover pasted on the previous cover.
mmmm... if you ask me, I prefer the first one. It's more revolutionary!
