action speaks louder than words

Nonverbal communication can be interpreted in many ways…it could be from a
• Facial expressions

Facial expressions can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. Some people can say sorry with different facial expressions from others. With the use of our instinct, sometimes we can see if the person is lying or not. Eye gaze could also be a nonverbal communication. Like blinking and staring. When people see the things they like, their pupils dilate… or the rate of blinking increases.

  • Gestures

Gestures could also be one of a nonverbal communication like waving, pointing. In my culture...

  • It is rude to stare at SOMEONE, but not when you stare at SOMETHING. Also,
  • Scratching your head means you don’t know what to do in a certain situation.
  • It is even rude to point at someone so some Filipinos use their mouth to point.
  • When speaking, we should look to the person’s eyes because I’ll be rude if our eyes roam around.
  • some people in the provinces, titling their hats or just smiling is a sign of saying hi

These are some nonverbal actions we have in our culture. It could be the same as other, it could also be different. Remember… action speaks louder than words!
